I’ve always wanted to draw/paint like Audrey Kawasaki. She is such a genius. Her works are all amazing. Even her doodles are perfect. The colors, the intricate designs that looks so easy when she draws them but so hard when you try it…
The themes of her paintings are mostly ‘suggestive’. They give off the innocent but erotic feeling. What draws me most about her figures are the eyes. All of her figures’ eyes are deep and entrancing. Like, you can just stare at them for a really long period of time. It’s like they draw you in to their own wonderful wonderful world.
She also paints on wood panels which makes her work seem more real and enchanting. You know how some works of art can seem cold, distant, and just far from human world? Hers are so near and so warm and so freaking alive. I also find it very curious that all her works have this air of melancholia in them. That ‘so near yet so far’ kind of sadness. Maybe it’s just me being heartbroken because I can’t draw like her. T-T
Anyway, Audrey Kawasaki is really great. If you haven’t heard of her, make sure to check her works out here: a u d r e y*k a w a s a k i
